Meet our new baby!!
We don't have a name for him yet. We are thinking hard and trying different ones out.
We got him this afternoon, down in Corio...we rang 16 pet shops and this was the first and nearest that had one! He is a dwarf lop rabbit, we aren't a 100% sure on age, around 12-14 weeks we think.
Bek and I have wanted one for a few weeks now and decided to get one. A hutch will be built up over the next few days for outside. But he is very cute, quite frantic at the moment, as they are not used to being picked up - or even much noise as the pet-shop casings are soundproof.
They can be toilet trained - which we are working on! and will quickly get used to people picking them up. At the moment he loves cuddling, but doesn't like the process of being caught...
He should be a great companion and he is very, very soft and loves being loved.

I think Corio is a pretty cool name too.
That's a HUGE dwarf - is it a 'drawf floppy eared GIANT rabbit' ? I think you'll find it'll grow to about 14" long which will dwarf a mouse, so maybe thats where the name comes from.
Big rabbits are cool anyway - they warm more of your lap.
Where is it sleeping until the hutch is done?
Nice looking bunny anyway, love the colour.

HE isn't that big. :)
he's about 25cm long at the moment and isn't expected to get much bigger.
He's sleeping in a Dell computer box filled with shredded paper for now.
i'll make an investigative trip down to Bunnings tomorrow.
