I was having some fun on Google Earth tonight (it is quite amazing!), finding the house of our friends that just moved over to the States - New Jersey, and stumbled upon Newark International Airport.

Two things stood out to me:
1) I was surprised the airport wasn't all blacked out and hidden from prying eyes, and
2) Check out the road system around it!?!?!??!?! It's ridiculous...!!

Good luck Dave and Meg...

No way, it's not real! You trailed limp spaghetti over the picture and re-photographed it! How would you find your way to anywhere? I reckon that all those years of mazes and 'follow the string to find who owns the red balloon' puzzles would come in handy here.

Not to mention that they will be negotiating this while driving from the passengers seat of the car and on the wrong side of the road!!! You're right Sim, good luck Dave & Meg

I can't help myself... Gotta leave a comment on this one! I live in New Jersey, and used to be a frequent traveler in my previous career and I think I know the ins and out of Newark Airport pretty well now... HOWEVER... When I first moved to NJ 6 years ago, I flew in late from a business trip and landed around midnight. Lo and behold... the onramp to Highway 78 was closed (that's the ONLY way I knew how to get home!) So there I was, headed the wrong way into New York City, totally lost and begging the parkway toll booth attendants to help me get home... So, yeah... it can be a little daunting to navigate that maze. But I think it looks worse from the air than it does at street level. (Had I known it looked like that from the air I might not have moved here!)

Have to leave a comment as well. I moved out here to Jersey from a very rural Iowa two years ago, and have to say the highway system in this state scared the pants off me! Not only do the roads wind all over the place, but Jersey drivers are a special breed of auto handlers. HOWEVER, have to say, now that I've been here two years, that the highways are pretty clearly marked... as long as you know where you are aiming to end up. And as for the Jersey driving scene, most people expect you to make silly driving maneuvers, and they expect the same from you, so it makes driving relatively easy, once you get used to it! If a girl from the farmland of Iowa can be transformed, I have no worries that Dave and Meg will be just fine! :-)
