3ds Max...
Published July 13, 2007 by Sim inI've recently taken more fancy to the potential of 3D Studio Max, or just 3D software in general, and really want to learn a lot more about it...
I've been reading up and trying out tutorials with materials etc. Its been good fun, with some cool stuff made, including an Ice Cube.
I did this one this morning, learning about Chrome, its quite cool, very effective, and I decided to try and see how much 3D max would reflect, by placing the two chrome balls next to each other...as you can see, it reflects forever. :) nifty...
anyway, in other news I had my 6 month review at work today, all good news. They feel I have grasped everything really well and have even brought knowledge to the business. Since I knew the basics of rendering, we can now do many more presentation renderings more often as there is the extra person to do it. Also, they mentioned that I had "the potential to be one of the star designers " there!! So I was very happy with the results of the previous 6 months. They also asked whether I was able to stay on after my 40 weeks, not quite offering it to me yet, but it was good to hear...

Hey Sim,
Well done on doing so well at work. Tell me something, how did you change the top of your blog, to show your photo etc? I want that too!
x Kate
thanks...
I edited the Template html code for the blog - its under all the template options...that let me change the colours and the header background etc.
I had to find out the size and make the picture first in Photoshop/Illustrator, then uploaded it somewhere on the net (i can't remember now :) ).
i'll try and email you something more detailed if you like...
